Příběh osiřelé Jane Ey Obrazek Obrazek r začíná ve třicátých letech 19. století.,kdy se dívka dostává z rodiny své zlé tety, kde po smrti rodičů žila, do internátní školy v Lowoodu. Příliš si však nepomohla. Ve škole musí snášet veškeré ústrky od vychovatelů. Přestože jsou ostatní dívky nabádáni k tomu ,aby se Jane stranili. Sblíží se Jane s Helen, která spí na vedlejší posteli. Vinnou nedbalosti vedení ústavu však Helen po čase podlehne těžké nemoci. - TO VŠE HRAJE GEORGIE.

Dospělá Jane se stane učitelkou a po dvou letech působěí v Lowoodu opustí nenáviděnou školu ,aby mohla nastoupit na nové místo vychovatelky. Kde se má starat o sirotka Adélu Varesovou.
